Anyone figure out how or has/will SmartSheet add a "filter" ability/widget to Dashboards?
Read through the posts I could find regarding adding a "filter" to a dashboard so you could use a single master sheet with Summary fields and then filter by Dept (or some other field) to show that same dashboard with that Department's details. As recently as this month it appears this doesn't exist but the feature has been requested somewhere back in 2020.
The following is the draft dashboard I created ... I'd hate to have to create a specialized report with duplicate summary fields to create a similar dashboard OR create multiple summary fields for each department on the master ... and then still have to also create a separate dashboard for each Dept.
Has Smartsheet or anyone come up with a scalable and maintainable solution for this problem?

No filter features in smartsheet dashboard. You need to create a separate dashboard if you want a specific reports. Possible in Power Bi.

Thx Che ... was hoping I just couldn't figure out "how" to do it ... for now, guess I'll have to muscle through all the reports and Summary fields I'll need to create the dashboard I want :-)

There is no direct way to do this. Adding a checkbox helper column with something similar to this and then formatting based on the checkbox is the simplest way. You can even hide the extra column, as there is no reason for it to be visible.<\/p>

You would set up conditions so that it will only send when Category is \"Project Name\" or Category is \"Objective\", so on and so forth then set up a \"custom message and only select the Category (if needed to provide context) and Description columns.<\/p>
