Filters for different users

嗨

Im a new smartsheet user and need some help!

we have a sheet with a work schedule. There are address/information columns and then columns of dates for various contractors.

We would like to give view only access to subcontractors but only want them to see their own columns. We want them to be able to access this information through the app.

I tried a report but the viewer can see all the information as they have to be a viewer on the sheet as well as the report we need a “live” system so doing a PDF report isn’t an option for us

I’ve seen suggestions for using AppSheet but wouldn’t have a clue how to do this!

    Hi Paul,

    There currently isn't a way to only share specific rows, columns, or individual cells in a sheet to specific people.

    With that being said, you might consider creating reports for your specific subcontractors—then publishing it and sending them the publish link.

    A couple of things to keep in mind when publishing a report:

    • Published reports are live
    • The published version of the report is read-only; your subcontractors won't be able to edit it from their end unless they're also shared to the report from Smartsheet

There currently isn't a way to overlay an Outlook Calendar on top of a Smartsheet Calendar; you can do the reverse, publish dates from Smartsheet into Outlook.<\/a><\/p>

You are not missing anything. This is how DV works with dropdowns unfortunately. My work around in the past is to create an other option in the drop down, user chooses save. Then have logic built for a text field that appears so the user can input the values not present in dropdown. <\/p>
