Consolidated Dashboard or PowerPoint
OK sleuths, this one is for you. We are an organization that loves powerpoint, and no matter what dashboards we create, a powerpoint presentation is typically still needed. We need a way to consolidate our project status in one easy document or dashboard. Is there any way to create the either of the two solutions below without regular manual intervention? APIs and macros considered if you know of anything.
- A consolidated dashboard that includes all projects provisioned in Control Center (we cannot publish dashboards).
- -or- Generate a series of powerpoint slides with some level of automation from at least 30 active project dashboards. The list of projects can be stored in one Smartsheet folder, but the list of projects will regularly change based on what is being provisioned in SCC.
Any ideas? We ideally do not want to be in the business of opening 30+ project dashboards, screenshotting (is that a word?) each dashboard, sizing/editing it, and pasting that into PowerPoint, and managing that when there are regular changes. Yikes.

Is it possible to use the webpage link option in PPT and the embed link in a dashboard? I would think it would work since an entire dashboard can have an embed link created... without publishing the dashboard, or linking somehow via the web functions, I'm not sure... good luck!

Hi Chris, and thank you for the quick reply. Do you mean the hyperlink function (Insert tab > hyperlink)? If so, no, that would require 30+ project dashboard links.

This is a challenge we are facing as well. Looking for some automated way to integrate into Powerpoint. I did find a tool called Office Timeline but it is a Windows only option and I am a macbook user so I am still researching other options. Following this discussion to see what others may have to offer up.

Hi Kristi,
The company that make Office Timeline had another (online) version. I was part of the beta program. I'll check later what it's called. I think it was Pincello. That might be an option!
Hope that helps!
Have a fantastic weekend!

I'm also looking for a way to integrate a Smartsheet report or dashboard into a PowerPoint. Any help is greatly appreciated. This would be simple with Excel.

Would one of those work?
I hope that helps!
