Why is SmartSheet sometime so dumb......?
I'm trying to do something that should be so simple.....
I have a several values in a column "A" in a $ format. I want the last row in the column to calculate 5% of the total of above columns. Why does the formula =SUM([Column A]1:[Column A]10*(0.05)) not work...
I'm sure there is some SmartSheet logic, which I don't know that will make this work, but why does the above formula not work? Why would the developers stray so far from basic spreadsheet logic?

Paul Newcome ✭✭✭✭✭✭=SUM([Column A]1:[Column A]10) * .05
You are including your multiplication inside of the SUM function. That's probably why it isn't working for you. Your formula is basically saying to multiply the range by .05 then SUM.
