SUM IF Name and Points
I need to calculate the total number of points in the "Points Column" by each person in the "Name" column and I cannot figure out how its calculated. I tried to brainstorm with another co-worker and we both had trouble trying to figure this one out. Please advise.

Hello Ciera,
what you need is the formula COUNTIF.
In your case:
=SUMIF(Name:Name, ="Ciera Broberg", [Points Earned:Points Earned]:[Points Earned:Points Earned])

To add to Stefan’s excellent advice.
You can change the Name to Name@row if the Name is in the same row, so you don’t need to worry about the specific name.
Also, I think Stefan added the Points Earned an extra time by mistake.
Try this.
=SUMIF(Name:Name, Name@row, [Points Earned]:[Points Earned])
