Automatically including new rows in formula

My scenario is this: I have a parent with multiple children, and new children are guaranteed to come in. I want to sum a column based on the condition of another column. How can I use the SUMIF to include newly added rows without editing the formula every time a new row is added?

How are new rows guaranteed to be children?
Any column can use the SUM(CHILDREN()) function, not only the Primary Column.
The whole row follows the hierarchy rules.
Try very hard to use a column reference when you can
[ColumnName]:[ColumnName]
does not require updating for a new row.
[ColumnName]23:[ColumnName]391
might.

How exactly is your Data Shuttle set up?
