# of Tasks Assigned to Each Person from a Folder

Hi All,

Working on trying to find a solution to the following. We have a dashboard we'd like to use to understand the workload across all of our standard projects. Specifically, we want to know the number of tasks assigned to each person by health status.

The Folder "Standard Projects" includes multiple sheets, and will continue to grow (possibly over 100)

Each of those sheets use the same template (example shown below):

Is it possible to create a report or sheet to link to the dashboard that can end up looking something like this (note, this is from a single large project that I've put together for reference):

最重要的事情is this scales and doesn't require I update links and formulas each time we make a new project because it will be a very regular occurrence.

1. If new employees are hired and assigned tasks, the report/sheet/dashboard can update automatically
2. If additional projects are placed in the "Standard Projects Folder", they'll automatically be considered in the total count

I'd recommend using the new Report Builder to accomplish this, but I don't think it supports Charts/Metrics in a Dashboard yet, but you can probably add the report to the Dashboard.

Are you referring to the row report and sheet report feature? Those can definitely fuel dashboard charts and metrics but I'm not able to get the report to meet criteria 1 and 2 above... the only way i can reference sheets is either using their folder as a source, which then won't let me create number summaries or to reference the sheets individually which means i'd have to update the formula every time we launched a new project. Unless I'm unaware of additional functionality?

I'm referring to the recently released Grouping and Summary features added to reports, and I don't think they can be used in combination with charts and metrics yet.

Starting today, you’ll see some changes in reports, with the release of a new report builder plus the addition of two top customer-requested features that help you create more powerful and informative reports: grouping and summary.<\/p>

The new report builder replaces the previous “where, what, when, who” structure with a more intuitive building experience. In the new builder, you’ll see several new tabs in the toolbar of your report, including — Sheets<\/strong>, Columns<\/strong>, and Filter Criteria<\/strong> — you’ll use these tabs to build your report.<\/p>

2. Select Columns to Display<\/strong><\/a> to choose the columns you want to include from your source sheets.<\/li>
3. Choose Filter Criteria<\/strong><\/a> to create criteria that rows must meet in order to be displayed in your report.<\/li><\/ol>

   Note:<\/strong> You’ll also see the Sort<\/strong><\/a> tab, where you’ll be able to select up to three fields to sort your report by.<\/p>

   As you can see, we’ve streamlined the process for report building by reducing the number of steps to build a report. Also, by bringing the report builder front and center, you’ll be able to more readily see included sheets, columns, and report filters.<\/p>

   Two additional new features further help you extract key information from reports:<\/p>

   • Group<\/strong><\/a>:<\/strong> Consolidate common sets of data into groups, so rows can be organized into logical categories or classifications - like tasks by team member, sales by territory, or other parameters.<\/li><\/ul>
