Importing Excel Data into a template

I have created a template with all of the appropriate columns, workflows and filters that I need.

I have a 4900 row Excel spreadsheet with my data.

I would like to import the Excel spreadsheet into my template. I can copy and paste, but since the limit is 500 rows at a time, it takes time.

I cannot seem to find a way to import that 4900 rows and tell Smartsheet to put the data in the template I have already created.

    Importing an Excel file will create an entirely new sheet (see:Import Files to Create New Sheets).

    This means that you are correct - the way to bring in this data into an already formatted sheet would be to copy/paste in the values to the Smartsheet cells.

    An alternative would be to use the premium add-onData Shuttle, if you have access to it. You could create a workflow based on an attached file, which would match columns from your Excel document to columns in your Smartsheet sheet and sync the data to the correct place.

Hi, <\/p>

Add a \"Created By\" column in your sheet and turn on \"Required smartsheet login to access your form\" in your form setting. So that whoever fills out the form, their email id will be automatically captured in \"created by\" column. This will replace your \"Requestor Name\" column. <\/p>
