Can i configure a workflow to alert someone when a specific entry is put in on a multi-select column

I have a form we are using to collect information on team activities. One of the form fields is a multi-select column where entrants can select all of the partner teams they will need to conduct the work outlined on the form. I'd like to send an alert to a "point of contact" for each team that is selected as a partner. The workflow wizard does not allow me to select a specific entry from the multi-select list - it only offers an option for when the field "changes". This does not work for what i need. In contrast, in a single-select field i am able to select from the drop-down list of eligible options. Please advise!

We don't have this issue with our documents. I think this may be a setting on the text field in your PDF template.
