Creating a 2nd date calculated from initial date

Added data in row with a created date I want to automate an expected close date 30 days from created date. However the expected close date could move and I want to be able to change that days adding on days until actual becomes yesterday.
of this I want to run forcasting into months and length of sell cycle.
I have read that the first part works with =[Created Date] +30 , but I have not been able to make that formula give any outcome except errors and I have tried a number of variations based on comments in help and community.
I feel if I can crack this I can then at least move on to the next issue.
Any suggestions

Hi,
You are missing which cell the formula should look at. With the@rowfunction, you don't need to think about which cell number to reference as long as you want to reference the same row.
Try this.
Did it work?
Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s) or some screenshots? That would make it easier to help with the next steps. (share too,[email protected])

Sorry for delay in reply I have been all over the shop trying to get different things to work. for this issue I created an additional column called number of days and created a trigger of that, but I would like to come back to your simpler solution when I have time to go back over things

=COUNTIF(Status:Status, \"Green\")<\/p>
=COUNTIF([% Complete]:[% Complete], \"Half\")<\/p>
