Hello, I am looking for a way to condition a symbol column to updated from a text column. Any tips?

    Hi@AGM,

    ahh, the screenshot makes it easier to help :-)

    What you need is a nested IF formula that caters for your status.

    https://help.smartsheet.com/function/if

    As you have only 4 colour balls but 5 options you may need to switch to other symbols providing more than 4 icons.

    For easier reading let's say: refining = 1 / defined = 2 / in-progress = 3 / completed = 4 / accepted = 5.

    =IF([Schedule State]@row = "1", "Red", IF([Schedule State]@row = "2", "Yellow", IF([Schedule State]@row = "3", "Green", IF([Schedule State]@row = "4", "Blue", "Grey"))))

There's no direct way to do this. However, you can add a checkbox helper column to identify duplicates. You can use the formula =IF(COUNTIF([Cells Linked from TE Tracker]:[Cells Linked from TE Tracker], [Cells Linked from TE Tracker]@row) > 1, 1, 0). This will add a check in the duplicates column for all values which appear more than once. You can then add the Distinct column with the formula =IF([Duplicate]@row=0, [Cells Linked from TE Tracker]@row). This is going to be the general idea. You will want to replace the name of the column that you use for the date of the observation. I also didn't know the name of the third observation type or the time period.<\/p>
