good stuff both, thank you very much. It's all seems wizard level and very useful, but I haven't reached that level of SmSh understanding yet nor have lots of experience with using formulas. picking up the points I've understood and taking it forward from there I guess. Thanks, Tomer

Thank you Charles, So you recommend to move away from the format Iv'e used so far and create a sheet where all tasks appear as rows? and categories as columns? some of the tasks are complex, so require sub tasks. wouldn't that look messy on the sheet? still hoping that someone can share a template confused... thanks Tomer

thank you very much. most of it works well, two points: 1. when applying the formula to all rows for the Priority column, the priority row gets a red - even before I have added a due date for that task. HI Andree thanks for this. 1. the row numbers change as I add more tasks and sub tasks under existing categories. filters are great for viewing, but we struggle with adding new task when viewing via a filter. 2. yeah, I thought so. is not really fit for my purpose. thanks,, Tomer
