Thank you @L_123 that did it. I looked in the settings, but I didn't realize that turning off dependencies would allow me to link it. thank you!

Andree, I went to export the file, and I reloaded it from the main directory and the 'hide column' function works now. I assume it had something to do with a cache, or refresh that allowed the row height to adjust. So I guess the problem took care of itself. Thanks for your help. Cheers,

Hi Andree, Not quite. Hiding it doesn't shrink the height of the row. I'm not sure if that's because it's a linked cell or not. How do you 'Remove' the column? As in delete the column from the file?

Hi Andree, I tried the +"" and it didn't work. Do you see the screenshot above? I copied the formulas there too. I get an #UNPARSEABLE error
-
=sum(children()) didn't work. I wish it did.

Ok, I had to rethink my process. I couldn't get it to work. This formula and layout works. Brown= Formula Cell I'm creating a 1 value if two conditions are met, then counting them in the parent. Then summing summing them in the grand-parent.

Here's another version of the issue, but simplified....

@Mike Widlay, Is there a way to see and vote/support the requests of others?

Done! Thanks Mike.

Hi Andree, 60 pages, create them once, and have them updated through the spreadsheet. The issue is me not wanting to copy/paste the data, then have it out of date.
